To the patients I have cared for:

It is with mixed emotions that I parted ways with my prior clinic. I have been surrounded by wonderful patients, talented nurses and a supportive community. As a rheumatologist, I believe in the value of our field for patients, families and the community. The relationships that were formed will endure and I sincerely hope East Tennessee will benefit from our past and current presence.

It has become clear over the past 24 months that health care needs to forge a new way for patients and for physicians. Innovation requires change and through that change, I will work to offer freedom in healthcare, build new relationships, lower health care costs, safeguard direct access to your physician and provide an alternative to the traditional health care system.

I believe taking care of people requires time - time to get to know them, time to listen - and the direct care model does just that.

Patients need choice as well. Patients and their physician should make the choice of what is best for their health - not a 3rd party. Patients also need the choice of who they are allowed to see, where they can have their blood work performed,

I have a vision of healthcare freedom, investing in the lives of people, giving choice back to individuals in healthcare, and lowering health care costs. That vision could only be achieved by change. I believe that vision will lead to working directly for you and with you. I hope you will allow me to continue to serve you as your physician.
