Osteoporosis is a condition where the bones become fragile and there is a significant risk of hip or spine fracture. While more common in women, osteoporosis occurs in men, as well. Osteopenia or low bone mass is a condition where the bones are beginning to weaken, but many individuals do not need medication, yet.
